Triple BTCC champion Matt Neal has been hospitalized over the weekend after sustaining injuries following a mountain biking accident.
The Team Dynamics driver, who was on Friday re-confirmed behind the wheel for a record 30th season was admitted to hospital following an accident which left him with a punctured lung, broken ribs and clavicle and fractures in his shoulder.
Neal announced his accident on Twitter on Sunday evening, on Monday morning Team Dynamics issued a statement confirming his injuries and an extended stay in hospital over the next few days.

“As most of you will be aware, Matt was involved in an accident yesterday while mountain biking. He remains stable in hospital where he’ll remain for the next few days, we’ll keep you all updated with any progress. Thanks for all of your well wishes, they haven’t got unnoticed.”
Neal is still due to line up on the grid for the first round of the 2020 BTCC season at Donington Park on March 28th/29th.
